Chemnitz 2007
chemnitz – once known as karl-marx-stadt – is transforming itself into a modern european city.
somehow, i can’t help wishing it would slow down.
these days, the beauty of most european city’s lies hidden beneath mountains of noise, pollution and traffic.
chemnitz seems to be a haven compared to most of them – but still, you can feel the hunger to ‘catch up’ with the ‘west’.
we strolled down to the lake and everything was overgrown – nothing shaved and manicured as in so many other cities.
people were out on boats...the wind was blowing, sun was hitting the water and there was sense of other-worldliness about the whole scene.
signs of a not-so-distant past
road weary?
not yet!
osho’s teaching is to make every moment your meditation – eating, walking, travelling, singing...whatever.
for us, the concerts are when the meditation peaks.
the silence between the songs is soul food for us – it nourishes body, mind and spirit.
it replenishes weary bones and charges the cells.
and our voices – your voices - when they melt together, when our breathing becomes synchronised, when we become one, is the key that opens the door to those precious moments of meditation.
we are honoured that you come and sing with us.
we are touched that you bring your love and come with open hearts and open voices – for deva and i, the gifts you bring are beyond measure.
deva soundchecks to an audience of one – rajen, our business manager!
chemnitz turned out to be quite an event.
there was a whole market happening in the foyer...
murari the happy shopkeeper – he was indian in his last life.
another beautiful little flower – and a beautiful mama too
manose took this great photo of deva in his hotel room in chemnitz the morning after the concert.
