Be a responsible cat owner and get your kitten or cat neutered (spayed, castrated, snipped)!!
Kittens should be neutered by 4 months old - to prevent accidental matings and unplanned litters of kittens. Cats are prolific breeders and many people don’t realise that female cats can become pregnant from as young as 4 months old, when they are still kittens themselves.
The cat population is still continuing to grow, and there are not enough homes. Surplus cats are already being euthanased in the UK as a result.
Stray and abandoned cats & kittens already struggle to survive on our streets in growing numbers as animal charities struggle to help them all. Cats and kittens become sick & injured whilst living stray and many die a terrible death.
Male cats need neutering too!
- To protect him from getting lost
-To prevent fight injuries
- To reduce the risk of infection with FIV.
- To prevent spraying.
- To be a good neighbour
Male cats should also be neutered at four months old, but can be neutered at any age. They are never too old!
***NO EXCUSES!!*** - if your cat or kitten (male or female) is not neutered – GET IT DONE!
(If you are on benefits or low income, you may be eligible to receive help with the cost of neutering your cat - see www.cats.org.uk/worldspayday for further information)
